Join the Somerset Celebration of Literature
An exceptional celebration of literature and culture, the bright, young and aspiring writers from Queensland and beyond will gather at the 2015 Somerset Celebration of Literature on the Gold Coast.
Taking place on 18 to 20 March in at Somerset College in Mudgeeraba, the Somerset Celebration of Literature will provide a great opportunity for these young and promising literary geniuses to share their insights and knowledge and learn from literary experts.
From its successful events during the previous years, the Somerset Celebration of Literature will serve as a unique event that goes beyond Somerset College to allow involvement from the entire community.
This three-day festival will feature more than 30 celebrated authors from across Australia to host interactive sessions and workshops to give children and the entire audience more knowledge and inspire them with their passion for literature. This event also allows them to meet authors and illustrators, and have your books signed by your favourite literary icons.
The Somerset Celebration of Literature is now celebrating its 22nd year and it is set to attract more participants to join in activities and presentations. Last year, there were about 56 schools with over 15,000 ticket sales throughout the entire festival, with students taking part in both the Somerset National Poetry Prize and the Somerset National Novella Writing Competition supported by Bond University and Penguin Group. For this year, the winners of the National Novella and Poetry Prize competitions will be also be highlighted.
